Are the Power+ and Power+FLEX Programs Currently Active?

The Holy Cross Energy Power+ program is currently live! You can apply here. The Power+FLEX program will launch in Q3 2024.

How does the HCE Power+ rebate work?

If you enroll in the Power+ program, HCE will pay the contractor up front for the entire system cost. The system cost will then be repaid on-bill minus an incentive of up to $12,500. The cost of the battery will be broken out monthly over a 10 year term and added to your utility bill each month. HCE will own the battery until repayment is completed after 10 years. Additionally, you will receive an additional monthly credit of $10.30 per kW of battery capacity toward your monthly utility bill.

Am I still eligible for the 30% Federal Tax Credit?

As of 2023, battery storage technology is considered a qualified expense under the Residential Clean Energy Credit. HCE members are only eligible for this credit if they participate in the Power+FLEX program. If eligible, it is Emporia's opinion that the calculation for the 30% federal tax credit combined with HCE rebate is as follows:
(Total Project Cost - HCE Rebate) * 30% = Eligible Tax Credit

Emporia or its employees are not tax professionals. Please contact your tax professional or the IRS for professional assistance regarding the ITC.
